Fortunately, many cases of ankle, foot and heel pain or injuries heel naturally with the correct care and advice. Cases that we see here at our ankle and foot pain clinic in Birmingham are often dealt with and treated successfully with conservative treatment modalities. This being said, we have built ourselves a very good reputation of providing high quality regenerative treatments for foot and heel pain. The most popular being P-PRP injection therapy, in which patients travel from all over the UK to see us for treatment. Click for more information on ORTHOBIOLOGICS below. If patients do not respond adequately to conservative treatment or the problem is getting worse, then consideration for injection therapy may be discussed. If patients are showing signs of advanced injury or disease progression, then we may discuss the option for an MRI scanning, to get diagnostic clarity. Generally speaking, based from a sound justifiable working diagnosis, not all vases may need imaging prior to treatment.
If a cause of your foot pain is suspected to be of an inflammatory or rheumatological origin, then you will be asked to provide a blood test and lab panel to check for raised inflammatory markers and or uric acid levels.
Specialist Imaging or Private MRI Scans
At Dynamic Regenerative Medicine, we occasionally provide ultrasound imaging to look for signs of tissue damage and inflammation. However, sometimes we may require a more in-depth analysis. If a private scan is considered, we will put in a referral to our local Imaging Centre in Solihull. You will then be contacted and booked in within the next few days. When your scan has been completed, the report will be completed by our colleague Dr David Beale (Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist). This report will then come back to us and will we then interpret the images and discuss with you then best course of treatment for your pain or injury.
In some cases we may refer to our trusted colleagues Mr Mark Herron (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon) or Mr James Ramos (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon) for surgical opinion.
