TOPICAL DUTASTERIDE HAIR LOSS MESOTHERAPY TREATMENT UK

NEW & EXCITING EFFECTIVE HAIR LOSS TREATMENT
TOPICAL DUTASTERIDE MESOTHERAPY WITH BIOTIN

The scientific literature has identified that both drugs are effective in reducing DHT and therefore subsequently providing a treatment option for hair loss. In comparison to one another, a 2014 study by the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, looked to compare the effects of finasteride vs dutasteride on 917 men between ages 20-50 who were at various stages of pattern hair loss. They concluded that both finasteride and dutasteride were successful at increasing hair growth over a 24-week period, and that side effects were similar among both groups. But interestingly, it was identified that the dutasteride group had a thicker hair result and more hair count, showing a better result over the finasteride group.

So what is the current supporting evidence for Dutasteride Mesotherapy?

review published in 2019, which summarised the current evidence comparing dutasteride and finasteride for the treatment of hair loss, also reported that dutasteride provides better efficacy compared with finasteride in treating androgenetic alopecia.

A new July 2022 study looked to further investigate the effectiveness of this popular hair loss treatment and again found very successful outcomes. Further information can be found here:  New Dutasteride Mesotherapy for the Treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia. July 2022 Retrospective Study in Real Clinical Practice.

Long-Term Effectiveness and Safety of Dutasteride versus Finasteride in Male Hair Loss

Topical Dutasteride is a NEW and exciting treatment option for hair loss that can be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments like platelet rich plasma (PRP), but with much fewer side effects as it is applied with topical application, so avoids the systemic side effects as with oral application. Furthermore, topical dutasteride has clinically proven, evidence-based, scientific data to show similar therapeutic benefits when compared with standard oral finasteride.

Dutasteride mesotherapy is an enhanced technique whereby we use a scalp micro-injection procedure, to apply the medicine directly where it needs to go.

In topical form - our treatment is a combination of Dutasteride and Biotin, which have been shown to increase the overall efficacy of preventing hair loss and maximising hair growth, in addition to reducing the possible side effects which are commonly associated with finasteride and dutasteride and clinically proven to increase hair growth.

It contains the following active ingredients:

We are constantly in the battle of finding new effective hair loss treatments, in an area so difficult to treat. Oral finasteride (Propecia®) is a commonly used drug-based treatment for hair loss with reasonably good results, however, it can be associated with significant and unfortunate side effects. Common side effects associated with this form of medication can be - reduced libido, sexual dysfunction, erectile dysfunction, and even male-based breast cancer.

Dutasteride is another similar medication called an 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. Finasteride and dutasteride both work to prevent the conversion of testosterone into a different type of androgen hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It is DHT that is strongly linked to hair loss, particularly androgenetic alopecia or pattern baldness. While finasteride and dutasteride both work to block DHT, it is very important to understand the pros and cons of such drugs.

By blocking 5 alpha-reductase, these drugs reduce DHT levels throughout your body and can slow down, stop or reverse the effects that DHT can have on hair loss. Although they both work in a similar way, there are a few differences in effectiveness and side effects to be aware of. Finasteride was developed earlier on and FDA-approved in the 1990s, where it was initially used for the treatment of benign prostate enlargement. Slightly later, finasteride was approved for the treatment of hair loss in men. Dutasteride was then FDA-approved in 2001 for prostate treatment.
